Where to Float
North Fork Flathead River (35 minute drive): a Class I to II wilderness float, best from June through September, with multi-hour to multi-day options depending on your put-in. The North Fork has Class II rapids in places; if you are new to moving water, ask us at pickup which sections to stick to.
Middle Fork Flathead (45 minute drive): bigger water and more current, with several commercial put-ins. Best for the 14-foot raft with a group.
Before You Launch
For the raft on moving water, at least one person in your group should have river paddling experience. We match the rental to your skill level at pickup. Personal flotation devices are required by Montana law for everyone on the water, and we provide them. Even in July, glacier-fed water is 50 degrees or colder: dress for a swim, not for the shore. Weather changes fast, so we check the forecast with you at pickup. On a full boat, designate one strong paddler as captain and one as rear safety.
Smaller Boats
For one or two people, or a lake you have to hike to, see the packraft. For a calm lake day, a paddleboard.
