Ride the most famous road in Glacier National Park on a premium e-bike, with a local guide, a lunch stop at a viewpoint, and none of the parking.

Going-to-the-Sun Road is a 50-mile scenic road through the heart of the park. It crosses Logan Pass, the highest point on the road at over 6,600 feet, on the Continental Divide that separates the Pacific and Atlantic watersheds. On a bike you take it in at a pace a windshield never allows: emerald lakes reflecting the sky, wildflowers along the shoulders, waterfalls off the cliffs, and the mountains on every side. This guided tour takes you up to 32 miles of it, and the e-bike’s pedal assist does the hard part of the climb.

How the Day Goes

Your adventure begins with a meet-up at our shop, 7309 Hwy 2 E in Columbia Falls. We drive into Glacier National Park together and start the ride after a brief orientation and safety overview.

Your guide leads you along one of the most scenic stretches of road in North America, with plenty of stops for photos, wildlife viewing and the stories behind the park’s history, geology and ecology. Midway through the tour we break for a scenic, guide-provided lunch at a beautiful viewpoint. Afterward we keep exploring the route at a relaxed pace, enjoying mountain vistas, crisp alpine air and wide-open spaces.

The tour concludes back at the vehicle, followed by return transportation to our shop.

Who the Ride Suits

Whether you are a seasoned adventurer or a nature enthusiast seeking a relaxing escape, this tour caters to all. With pedal-assist bikes, riders of all levels can comfortably enjoy the road. You choose how much to push: scenic overlooks, short walks, or simply cruising and soaking in the beauty.

Riders 13 and up ride their own adult bike. Younger children ride along with an adult: children 4 to 12 in a secondary seat on an Aventon Abound, and infants under 70 pounds in a tow-behind trailer with two seats, seatbelts and a weather cover. We keep a limited number of trailers and Abound bikes, so tell us when you book and we confirm what works for your party.

What to Expect on the Road

The road is open to cars for most of the summer, so your guide rides with the group, picks the stops and keeps everyone together. Mountain weather changes fast: bring layers, closed-toe shoes, sunglasses, gloves, a water bottle, sunscreen and a small backpack. We provide the e-bikes, helmets and lunch.

Bring your own Glacier National Park pass. Passes are not included in the tour price, and you can buy one at the park entrance if you have not pre-purchased it.

“We did a 4 hour (lunch included) park e-bike tour. Erin, our guide, was highly skilled, knowledgeable, and friendly. The equipment fit the needs of the terrain perfectly. We got a good workout but never felt strained or unsafe. Kate and Branden, the owners, helped check us in and were also personable and knowledgeable. This bike tour was a very good value.”
